Akihabara, Mecca of Otakus and Arcaders
Any fan of baseball should go visit Tokyo Dome City, home ground of the famous team Yomiuri Giants. Settled in Bunkyō ward, apart from the popular stadium, visited annually by more than 8 million people and offering 55,000 seats, Tokyo Dome City got attractions (including Thunder Dolphin, the fastest roller coaster in Tokyo), the TeNQ Space Museum, a bowling center, a table tennis space, a roller skate arena, a hotel and the gallery AaMo, among other facilities.
But it’s not all about baseball. Akihabara area is the place to go for otakus (anime and manga fans) and arcaders. Among idols looking for their way to fame and maid cafes (a really popular choice for foreigners), Akihabara got a bunch of SEGA buildings full of arcades of all kinds: claw machines, shooting games, racing games, dancing games… Modern and classic, regular and weird arcades coexist under the same roof. The average price for every game is around 100 and 200 ¥. Drinking alcohol is allowed in the building, which multiplies fun for adults.
